Having won
division 5 last season, Hayle 2 skipped division 4, [because of the
lack of competition, also because we are 'brill' !!]
No ... with a
bit of good fore-sight, the county put us into division 3. As a team
we took div 3 by storm, getting of to the perfect start by winning
and then just made a habit of it.
After suffering
several injuries, we had to bring 4 players up from our 3rd team to
play Newquay 1,which was a very big 'ask'
Unfortunately
we lost that game, but that only made us more determined not to lose
any more, and that is what we managed to achieve, with hard work at
training and a steely determination in our remaining games.
We are now Div
3 CHAMPIONS. Fantastic effort ladies, I have not mentioned any
individual players, because it was a great team challenge, having to
use lots of players from our ever improving 3rd team to assist the
2nd's in achieving their season's goal, once again well done Ladies
!!
CHAMPIONS ! CHAMPIONS ! CHAMPIONS ! CHAMPIONS ! CHAMPIONS !
CHAMPIONS ! CHAMPIONS ! CHAMPIONS !

Hayle 3 Season's
Report.
Although the 3rd team have had a few ups and downs this
season --- with numerous injuries, playing with 5 or
6 players, players being renamed up and having to concede
games because we have young players and having to play
matches to late --- we have come through with flying
colours, playing our matches with determination and
enthusiasm. We have probably been in the same boat as a lot
of other clubs.
With a
mixture of youth and experience it has proved a successful
combination throughout the court. A special mention to Lou
and Hannah who have learnt new shooting skills this year -
as well as being asked to play other positions- and an
excellent job they have done as well, with a sterling effort
in defence from Tamsin and Claire who have worked
tirelessly. Claire, I hope the ankle is feeling better and
that your voice is in fine fettle for Pontins. Returning
from a nasty ankle injury midseason Kelen has given our
shooting circle an added depth and resilience with her
experience and shooting prowess, now both ends of the court
have to have that middle person and joining us this year was
Steph who with boundless energy and a smile has supported
both defence and attack.
Now we
couldn't have completed the season without the support of
our junior members who have stepped up to the mark and
improved in leaps and bounds and done so with great
enthusiasm ... so a big thank you to Bonnie, Georgia, Amy,
Alex, Sophia and Sara, and we look forward to having your
support next season.
Finally,
I must thank Valerie who is that most undervalued of
persons, the umpire, but who has also stepped in to play as
well - A big thank you !!
We have
finished the end of the season in the top half of the league
which is a fantastic result and we look forward to an even
better season next time, I also look forward to having all
the crocks back on song, fit and raring to go.
As Clinton
would say ...

that should be 'roving' !)

1st Team Season's Report
CHAMPIONS OF CORNWALL
Hayle 1st Team ... 100% ...16 out of 16
wins all the way !!
What a great Season, after coming 3rd last year, on our return to the 1st
Division, there was only one way we wanted to go, and with some hard work
and lots effort we have got our just rewards.
A few people I must thank, Rob Ellaway
from the Cornish Pirates Rugby Club for the fitness training he put the
girls through, which has made such a difference in a lot of our matches,
When other teams are flagging, we are at our most dangerous, so thanks Rob,
more next season please.
Sally, my better half, who has not only
subbed for nearly all of the matches, done all the paper work, supplied the
sweets, and when required stepped up to the mark and played and played well.
To all our supporters a very big thank you.
But now to our players, our great
defenders Janine Woods & Becs Vosper who are without
fear of contridiction the envy of all our
opposition ... our mid-court mayhem trio, of Kailey Bennetts, Rachael
Bromley and Leanne Moore ... but a special mention to a special Kiwi
Girl Nicole Dickins who after 8 games had to return home to Kiwi Land ...
what a wonderful young lady and a wonderful player !! We miss you Nicole,
but KB, RB & LM 'did the business', with a mixture of good skills and speed
they left the opposition in their wake.
Finally, our amazing attackers ...
great shooting and consistency from my niece Amy Burstow and last but
certainly not least, my player of the season, another Kiwi, Rachael Cass
whose class and skill have put her above all others in the league.
So when you put all this talent
together you come up with ...
Hayle 1 ...COUNTY 1st DIVISION
CHAMPIONS !!
I need say no more ...
